Hello everyone. It’s my pressure to leave a message on the first student from my school. Because it’s my first time, I just want to introduce myself below.
I’m Jun Suk Yoon, a Korean, currently studying at Tokyo Japanese Language & Culture School. I was born in Seoul, Korea and lived there until graduating my high school. Then, I went to the United States in the summer of 2000 with a goal of becoming a designer.
In the summer of 2001, I enrolled in Northern Virginia Community College to further perfect my English. While studying a fine arts course in NVCC, I realized I enjoyed working with computer more than drawing on a piece of paper. Thus, after serious consideration, I stepped into the graphic design world. After that, because it took for a long time for me to learn English and graduate the college, I was eventually there for 5 years.
I actually wanted to transfer a school to one that has 4 year courses and spend more my time in the States, but unfortunately I had to go back to my country to serve the military. It wasn’t very nice time for 2 years but not that bad either. After done for the military service, I studied for not only computer hardware but also software while I was just working as a part time worker in several places, a sandwich store, an English school for kids, and so on.
You may doubt why I’m here now. I came to Japan because the one of my best friend, who was studying in Japan already, asked me to come. I came to Japan on January 3rd in this year. Even though I didn’t even know Hiragana and Katakana, I was able to be placed in level E class which is mid-high level because I could understand and speak Japanese somehow. I guess I’ve naturally learned from my Japanese friends around me in the States.
Then now I’m in the highest level of my school studying toward to transfer to a university in Japan, and I hope that I can leave here enjoying my life!
