Shinshu Matsumoto Airport

Japan Airline’s management revitalization plan is in trouble.
A route serving the Matsumoto airport in Nagano Prefecture faces the possibility of being suspended amid the economic downturn.
The number of passengers using Matsumoto airport remains small, making the airport always a target for reduction of services on the route.

Matsumoto airport is the only airport not adjacent to the ocean out of the total 98 passenger airports in Japan, making it a rarity among airports.
Since I’m a big fan of Matsumoto airport, I urge you to come and visit the city of Matsumoto by air as a way to support the survival of the airport.

If you go to Matsumoto city, you can expect many attractions such as one of the national treasures the Matsumoto Castle, unique museums, beautiful sceneries of the Northern Japanese Alps, hot spring resorts, healthy buckwheat noodles and plenty of delicious Japanese cuisine.
These attractions undoubtedly can help you enjoy your trip to Matsumoto!
